Dental cones

From Pharmpedia

Dental cones

Dental cones are relatively minor tablet that are designed to be placed in the empty socket remaining after tooth extraction. These tablets slowly release antibacterial compounds to prevent the growth of the bacteria in the empty socket following tooth extraction. They may also be used to reduce the bleeding by containing an astringent or coagulant. The vehicles commonly used are sodium bicarbonate, sodium chloride or an amino acid.
